WHAT TREATMENTS ARE THERE FOR VARICOSE VEINS?
There are two different types of treatment: surgery and sclerotherapy..Surgery can be divided into three subgroups:
Venous ligation above the incompetent valve
Stripping or pulling of large venous trunks
Mini-phlebectomies
There is also a fourth application known as the CHIVA (hemodynamic cure for ambulatory venous insufficiency) technique, which consists in the ligation of abnormal valves with small incisions to achieve the re-canalisation of the flow direction, without removing any dilated vessels.
