WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO MY CIRCULATION IF I HAD MAY VARICOSE VEINS REMOVED?
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THERE MIGHT NOT BE SUFFICIENT LEG VEINS LEFT FOR VENOUS RETURN TO TAKE PLACE?

The answer is No, Once the veins have become distended due to a failure in the valves, these veins become incompetent because their sides do not come into contact anymore and consequently there is no circulation towards the heart from the varicose legs. Varicose veins cannot continue carrying blood up to the heart; instead they produce a reflux towards peripheral areas that other neighbouring competent veins will have to carry back to the heart. These neighbouring veins will have to take their own flow plus the flow from these varicose veins, with the corresponding overload.

So, one can easily understand that the load on the return circulation is eased when varicose veins are removed Since the stagnation of blood is avoided there are no dermatological complications as a result of the varicose veins or varicose ulcers being reomoved. Removal of the varicose veinsalso corrects the aesthetic defect caused by dilated vessels.
